Robotics Engineer
About the Role#
At OZ, AI perception means nothing without precise physical action. Our OZ PanoNode arrays contain PTZ cameras that must track, pan, tilt, and zoom with sub-frame accuracy, responding to real-time inference outputs and Playbook instructions while operating continuously in harsh stadium environments.
As a Robotics Engineer, you will own the control layer between AI perception and physical actuation. You will design the servo control loops, motion planning algorithms, and hardware abstraction interfaces that translate detection coordinates into smooth, broadcast-quality camera movements. Your work ships inside every OZ PanoNode deployed worldwide.
This is Physical AI at the actuation layer. Where most robotics teams operate in controlled lab environments, your control algorithms run in live stadiums under real-world conditions: weather, vibration, and continuous operation. AI-assisted simulation and testing frameworks let you validate control behavior before deployment, and the deployment flywheel means each venue's operational data improves calibration fleet-wide.
This role is on-site in Nagpur because you will work directly with hardware prototypes, test rigs, and the electronics team. You will see your control algorithms running on real cameras within days of writing them.
What You Will Do#
- Design and implement PTZ control algorithms that translate AI detections into smooth, deterministic camera movements
- Build and tune PID control loops for pan, tilt, and zoom axes with sub-frame latency requirements
- Develop the hardware abstraction layer that decouples control logic from specific servo and motor hardware
- Integrate robotic actuation with the inference pipeline , closing the perception-to-action loop in real time
- Design motion planning strategies for multi-camera coordination across an OZ PanoNode array
- Build simulation and testing frameworks for validating control behavior before deployment to production hardware
What We Look For#
- 3+ years of experience in robotics engineering, mechatronics, or control systems
- Strong C++ skills with experience writing real-time control software
- Deep understanding of PID control, motion planning, and servo/motor control systems
- Experience with embedded systems and hardware-software integration
- Ability to debug across the full stack, from electrical signals to software control loops
- Comfort working with physical prototypes and iterating rapidly between simulation and hardware
Nice to Have#
- Experience with PTZ camera systems or broadcast robotics
- Background in computer vision or sensor fusion for closed-loop control
- Familiarity with ROS, CANopen, or industrial motion control protocols
- Experience with NVIDIA Jetson or similar edge compute platforms
- Mechanical design skills (SolidWorks, Fusion 360) for enclosure and mounting systems
What We Offer#
- Early-stage equity (ESOP). You build the company, you own part of it
- Hardware budget for your development setup
- Annual learning budget for courses, certifications, and conferences
- Direct hardware access: test rigs, prototype enclosures, and production cameras in the Nagpur R&D lab
- Your control code ships inside every OZ PanoNode deployed globally
- A growing, high-impact team where your contributions are visible and your scope expands with the company
