Senior Software Engineer
About the Role#
OZ deploys full-stack Physical-AI infrastructure at venues worldwide. Our edge-sovereign runtime processes six 4K60p camera streams in real time, runs inference models, controls PTZ robotics, and serves structured data through the Spatial API, all on-venue, with zero cloud dependency for live operations.
As a Senior Software Engineer, you will work across the stack that makes this possible. Some weeks you will be deep in C++ optimizing the video routing pipeline. Other weeks you will be building React interfaces for OZ Studio that give operators real-time control over production Playbooks. The common thread is real-time systems that must be correct, fast, and deterministic.
This is an AI-First engineering role. You will use AI coding agents daily as force multipliers, from writing system-level C++ to building React interfaces. Our Ops-as-Code methodology means deployments, diagnostics, and fleet operations are CLI-driven and agent-executable. You will ship code that runs in production at venues across multiple continents. The feedback loop is short: deploy, observe, improve, repeat.
What You Will Do#
- Build and maintain the edge-sovereign runtime that orchestrates inference, video routing, PTZ control, and data output on OZ PanoNode hardware
- Develop real-time control interfaces in OZ Studio (React/TypeScript) for production workflows and Playbook authoring
- Design and extend the Spatial API, the structured data layer that downstream partners and applications consume from the Venue Graph
- Implement deterministic scheduling and resource management for GPU compute, network I/O, and storage on edge hardware
- Build commissioning and diagnostics tooling (OZ CLI) that accelerates venue deployment
- Contribute to system health monitoring, SLO enforcement, and fleet-wide observability
What We Look For#
- 5+ years of software engineering experience with strong systems programming fundamentals
- Proficiency in C++ for performance-critical paths and TypeScript/React for application layers
- Experience building real-time systems with hard latency requirements
- Solid Linux systems knowledge: networking, process management, GPU driver interaction
- Comfort working across abstraction layers, from kernel-level debugging to UI component design
- Track record of shipping production software that operates reliably under continuous load
Nice to Have#
- Experience with video processing pipelines (GStreamer, FFmpeg, NVIDIA Video Codec SDK)
- Background in robotics control systems or servo actuation
- Familiarity with gRPC, Protocol Buffers, or similar RPC frameworks for real-time data exchange
- Experience with fleet management or multi-device orchestration
- Contributions to developer tooling, CLIs, or infrastructure automation
What We Offer#
- Early-stage equity (ESOP), because you build the company and you own part of it
- Hardware budget for your development setup
- Annual learning budget for courses, certifications, and conferences
- Remote-flexible work with async-first culture across Silicon Valley, Reykjavík, Nagpur, and Dubai
- Full-stack scope: you will touch every layer from hardware abstraction to user interfaces
- A growing, high-impact team where your contributions are visible and your scope expands with the company
